Welcome to Gilson Korean Restaurant, a hidden gem located on 22716 Hwy 99 in Edmonds, WA. This cozy establishment offers a plethora of options for Korean cuisine enthusiasts. From beef soup to jokbal, customers rave about the delicious food and excellent service.
One customer, Alan Z., praised the quality of the food, especially the banchan. Another customer, Rice Include D., couldn't resist the soft tofu soup with beef, claiming it as their favorite in the Seattle area.
But the real standout at Gilson Korean Restaurant seems to be the Bossam, a dish that impressed Raymond T. with its generous portions of steamed pork belly served with fresh kimchi, garlic, and jalapeno. Pair that with a seafood pancake and intestines with toepokki for a flavorful and filling meal.
Christina SY C. commends the consistency of the food and the hard-working staff, making her a loyal customer for many years. While some, like Ning L., may have found the service lacking, others like Bruce W. were blown away by the cozy atmosphere and top-notch service.
If you're in the mood for Korean BBQ, Nina H. recommends trying the kalbi, which she describes as "BOMB." Meanwhile, Yun-Wen L. enjoyed the Spicy Pork Intestines and Soft Tofu Soup, noting the flavorful and filling nature of the dishes.
Overall, Gilson Korean Restaurant offers a diverse menu, attentive service, and a cozy ambiance that keeps customers coming back for more. Whether you're a fan of traditional Korean dishes or looking to explore new flavors, this restaurant is worth a visit.
Been here twice and forgot to review the first time. I got a beef soup the first time and then jokbal with another soup another time. All of the food is very good and same with the banchan. Didn't do the kbbq so no idea how that was but I really enjoyed the things that I ordered. Service is usually pretty quick and they weren't too busy the times I've gone but it's been later in the evenings.
Homey atmosphere Very kind waitstaff Got the soft tofu soup with beef (served with rice and banchan) the first time I came here. Loved it so much that I haven't been able to bring myself to try anything else -- my favorite so far in the Seattle area.
Absolutely amazing food! We ordered full entrees off the menu and did not do the kbbq so this review will not include that. Initially they showed us to a large spacious table for our party of 6 but after we said we werent interested in bbq they moved us to a corner table in the back. The new table was smaller and cramped, luckily this was the only annoyance and the food was so dang good I didnt care afterwards. We ordered the Bossam, its 40+$ but easily shares with with our party of 6. If I did not come with friends I wouldve never known to order this and it was amazing. So much steamed pork belly served fresh kimchi, garlic and jalapeno I immediately want to come back. We also ordered a seafood pancake and the intestines with toepokki, every dish was full of flavor, crispy, and filling. Cant recommend this place enough.
Consistently so delicious. Specially their severs are so hard working and kind! I'be been their regular customer for many many years. :)))
WOW! Love, love, love this restaurant! Here in Edmonds to visit my daughter and stopped by for dinner. Service was Sooo nice and the place looks so cozy! Love it. Oh my the food was the BEST!!!
The food is delicious, the atmosphere is good, the inside is clean, the bathroom is clean, I like everything except the service, which is not very good. There are not enough employees for the number of guests who come to eat in the restaurant. The employees try to avoid their eyes, not daring to look at the customers' faces for fear that the customers will call them. By the time we could call the staff, we had eaten until we were full and we just wanted more things. By the time we could call the staff, we didn't need those things.
The food was okay. The tofu soup is too sweet than the traditional soon dubu. Yuk Ke Jjang can be more tasty. The service was good but the place is very cold. They could use more heater.
I had always driven by Gilson and always wondered what this place was. I finally came here with my husband one night for date night and I was pleasantly surprised. The interior felt like something from a South Korean restaurant in Seoul. It gave authentic Korean restaurant vibes and the food was really good! We ordered KBBQ and the kalbi was BOMB. The service was great, very nice and efficient. I'd definitely come back for more kbbq goodness.
Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - Spicy Pork Intestines was a bit sweet but so good! The rice cake was cooked well and still had a chewy texture without becoming too tough or mushy. Texture was a bit chewier than expected rather than super crispy. It looked like a small serving initially but quite filling Soft Tofu Soup with beef was a bit sweet too which was surprising initially and a bit too much at the end. The tofu was so soft and the meat actually absorbed the soup flavor Spicy Cold Noodles was a generous serving. Simple with just lettuce, cabbage, and noodles with sauce but very satisfying. Ambience: N/A - ordered food to go. Have pop songs on which is a bit loud. Not very good ventilation. Very rustic feel Service: 5/5 - very attentive for the to go orders even when 4 parties walked in within 5 minutes of each other Value for price: 4/5 - the protein dishes are all quite pricey and we decided not to get KBBQ due to price and minimum of 2 proteins. However, everything we got was tasty even if a bit on the sweeter side.
